For the British Idealists were active in political philosophy as well as social work, I wondered how social events of its time contributed to the developmetn of the British Idealist movement. In section 5.1, I will first focus on the Industrial Revolution and resulting class society, discussing philosophy and social work in the area. In 5.2, then, I will focus on a at first sight not so social development - evolutionary theory - and how its social implications influenced the British Idealists.
